Seonaid McIntosh and Filip Nepejchal top the podium and 2019 Ranking

Two young athletes - Seonaid McIntosh from the Great Britain and Filip Nepejchal from the Czech Republic have won the 50m Rifle 3 Positions at the World Cup Final in Putian, CHN, and secured the top positions of the 2019 Ranking in this event.

23 years old McIntosh was leading the 2019 Ranking before Putian, but here advantage against Nina Christen from Switzerland and Snjezana Pejcic from Croatia was not too big leaving place for different outcomes of the annual ranking before the last competitions. 

All three of them reached the Final but McIntosh managed to increase her leadership by winning the gold medal in the Women event and the cristal World Cup. Ruijiao Pei from the host People’s Republic of China got the silver medal and Nina Christen - the bronze.

 

20 years old Nepejchal was only on the forth place in the 2019 Ranking of the 50m Rifle 3 Position Men before Putian after Sergey Kamenskiy  from the Russian Federation, Zhonghao Zhao from the People’s Republic of China and Istvan Peni from Hungary. Zhao did not compete this time, but Kamenskiy and Peni reached the final along with Nepejchal. Still, they could not maintain their positions leaving the top place to the Czech who won the gold, the cristal World Cup and established the Junior World Record Finals. Milenko Sebic from Serbia took second place and Sergey Kamenskiy - third place.

 

The competitions continue tomorrow with the 25m Pistol Women and 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men. The World Cup Final is the last ISSF competitions this year.
