The Organisers of the World Cup in New-Delhi have approached the ISSF with a proposal to postpone the tournament from the second half of March to later dates, when the  COVID-19 virus situation  may have improved and all athletes who would like to take part in the World Cup could do so. Significantly it is being proposed to divide the World Cup into two parts, holding Rifle and Pistol competitions on May 5-12, 2020 and Shotgun competitions on June 2-9, 2020.

Taking into consideration the extraordinary global situation, preventive measures undertaken at governmental level in many countries and the necessity to give all athletes equal opportunity to participate at the Olympic Games. the ISSF have requested that the IOC extend the internal Olympic Qualification period in the shooting sport. If the IOC approve, the World Cups in Munich, Germany, and Baku, Azerbaijan, can also influence the outcome of Olympic Qualification.  It must be noted that all Qualification Quota Places, as planned, will be allocated by May 31, 2020. There will be only 12 unallocated Quota Places according to the World Ranking and a small number of unused Quota Places due for reallocation.

ONCE AGAIN WE MUST HIGHLIGHT THE NECESSITY OF BEING VERY CAREFUL WITH AIRTICKET BOOKINGS, HOTEL RESERVATIONS AND OTHER TRVEL EXPENSES DUE TO THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE SITUATION IN ORDER TO AVOID POSSIBLE FINANCIAL LOSSES.
