World Cup in Lonato welcomes a record number of nations

The ISSF World Cup Shotgun was started in Lonato, Italy. More than 400 athletes from 63 nations and 5 continents are taking part in it. This number of nations is a 2021 record.

- Finally we have a very big competition after a very difficult moment for all the world. I’m happy to be here with so many athletes, it’s a great competition which is so important for preparation to the Olympic Games, - told Andrea Benelli, coach of the Italian Team. 

The competition program includes Individual, Team and Mixed Team events in Trap and Skeet. 

- I’m really happy that the ISSF has included Team events into the program. It’s a really good tradition because we can participate both in Team and Individual events now, - told Angad Vir Singh Bajwa from India who participates in Skeet Men. 

Today was the first day of competition in Skeet Men and Skeet Women. Finals will take place tomorrow and will be broadcasted on TV and ISSF Internet resources.

Competitions are held in compliance with the necessary anti-covid measures established by the Organizing Committee and the COVID-19 ISSF Guidelines.
