Olympic champion Alberto FERNANDEZ and the youngest finalist Gaia RAGAZZINI win Gold in Peru

Italy, Spain and the USA have won the first World Cup awards in Lima, Peru, which takes place from March 27 to April 7.

Today athletes competed for the first medals of the World Cup Shotgun in Lima, Peru.

 

The Medal Standing was opened by women in Trap.

 

Athletes from 5 countries participated in this final and Italians won two medals at once.

 

The Italian Gaia RAGAZZINI won the Trap Women. The youngest participant in the final, 21-year-old Gaia took her first medal belong seniors and beat Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Kayle BROWNING from USA. Kayle took second place. Another athlete from Italy, ISSF debutant Alessandra DELLA VALLE, won Bronze.

 

Olympic champion of Tokyo-2020 in the Trap Mixed Team Alberto FERNANDEZ from Spain won here in Trap Men. The destiny of the Gold Medal was decided in the shoot-off, in which Alberto was more accurate than Erminio FRASCA from Italy, who returned to the World Cup’s podium for the first time since 2018. Derrick Scott MEIN from USA won his first ISSF competition medal, Bronze.
