The first victories of Kuwait and Croatia

The ISSF Grand Prix Shotgun started in Konya, Turkey. More than 100 athletes from 19 countries of the world take part in the competition, which will continue till June 22nd. Today Kuwait and Italy won 2 medals each, Croatia and France won 1 each.

The first medals were played by women in the Trap event. Sarah ALHAWAL from Kuwait advanced to the final after shoot-off and took first place. The athlete returned to the ISSF podium for the first time since 2018. The second place was taken by Adeline COUET from France, the third - by Giulia GRASSIA from Italy. For both, Adeline and Giulia, these medals were the first individual ISSF awards among women.

 

London 2012 Olympic champion Giovanni CERNOGORAZ from Croatia won Gold in Trap Men. The first individual medal of the ISSF Grand Prix was won by Naser MEQLAD from Kuwait, who finished second. The silver medalist of the 2012 Olympics Italian Massimo FABBRIZI won here the Bronze.

 

Tomorrow athletes will take part in the Trap Mixed Team event.
