4 Quota places for Asia and 4 for Europe

8 Quota places were allocated today in 10m Air Pistol events, 4 each in 10m Pistol Women and 10m Air Pistol Men.

4 of them were won by athletes from Asia: People’s Republic of China (2 Quotas), Republic of Korea and Pakistan, 4 were won by athletes from Europe: Ukraine, Greece, Serbia and Armenia.


Jinyao LIU from People’s Republic of China became the world champion in the 10m Air Pistol Men event. For him, this award was the first at the ISSF competition among men. His teammate Yifan ZHANG won the Silver, which was also his first medal at such a high level. Bronze was won by the winner and prize-winner of the World Cups Pavlo KOROSTYLOV from Ukraine. Jinyao LIU and Pavlo KOROSTYLOV won Quotas for their countries. Two more quotas were won by Wonho LEE from Republic of Korea and Gulfam JOSEPH from Pakistan.


People's Republic of China took one more Gold in 10m Air Pistol Women. 22-year-old Kaiman LU took a landslide victory over Olympic champion Anna KORAKAKI from Greece to claim her first World Championship Gold. Anna KORAKAKI won the Silver medal. Prize-winner of Championships and World Cups Zorana ARUNOVIC from Serbia won Bronze in a hard struggle. All three athletes won Quotas for their teams to Olympic Games Paris-2024. One more Quota won Elmira KARAPETYAN from Armenia.


Linshu DU from People's Republic of China took first place in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Junior Final. Marko IVANOVIC from Serbia took second place, Griffin LAKE from USA took third. 


In the 25m Pistol Junior events, the victories were won by athletes from India, who showed the best result among both Junior Men and Junior Women.


Esha SINGH from India won Junior Gold. In the final, she was more accurate than her rivals Sixuan FENG from People's Republic of China and Miriam JAKO from Hungary, who took second and third places, respectively.


Udhayveer SIDHU took first place in this event. Matteo MASTROVALERIO from Italy and Yangpan LIU from People's Republic of China won Silver and Bronze respectively.


Udhayveer SIDHU also won the 25m Standard Pistol Men Junior. Second place went to Yangpan LIU from People's Republic of China. Another athlete from India, Sameer SAMEER, took third place.


Sixuan FENG from People's Republic of China won Gold in this event among Women Junior. This medal was her second today. Nan ZHAO from People's Republic of China finished the event in second place, Tejaswani TEJASWANI from India finished in third place.
