Sport shooting competition added to Olympic Esports Series 2023

The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Challenge featuring Fortnite will be part of the roster for the inaugural Olympic Esports Series 2023, bringing the total of sports and games involved in the series to 10.

Today, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has released the event details information for the inaugural Olympic Esports Week, taking place in Singapore’s Suntec Centre from 22 to 25 June 2023.

The competition will be an invitational event and involve 12 players selected from the Fortnite Champion Series. It will feature a special International Shooting Sport Federation Island created in Fortnite, which will be designed to reflect the main characteristic of the sport shooting competition.

Players will be tested on their target aiming accuracy just as sport shooters would in a real competition.

The Olympic Esports Series 2023 is a global virtual and simulated sports competition, created by the IOC, and in collaboration with International Federations (IFs) and game publishers. The best players will take part in live, in-person finals at the Olympic Esports Finals in Singapore from 22–25 June 2023 as part of the Olympic Esports Week.

All the thrilling finals action will be streamed globally onOlympics.comand Olympics socials channels.

This represents a great opportunity for ISSF and the sport shooting movement with the possibility to reach a large audience of above 400 millions of users through Fortnite.

The Esport Week represent a launching pad to make the sport of shooting even more visible to a huge young audience.
