ISSF President Luciano Rossi pledges further co-operation in “historic” visit to Kosovo

ISSF President Luciano Rossi made a landmark trip to Kosovo today, meeting the President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOC), Ismet Krasniqi, and the President of the Shooting Sport Federation of Kosovo (FShSK), Gëzim Hazrolli.

Hazrolli described the visit to the KOC headquarters as “historic” and thanked President Rossi for showing his support of the FShSK and his co-operation with the KOC, kosovapress reports.

In welcoming President Rossi, President Krasniqi expressed his readiness to continue the support for the further advancement of sports marketing in Kosovo.

He also spoke about taking over the organisation of the Prishtina 2030 Mediterranean Games.

President Rossi - who had met the President of the Albanian Shooting Federation, Stefan Rrufa, the previous day - highlighted the excellent co-operation there has been between the ISSF and FShSK since the latter organisation’s application to become a member, something for which he had offered strong support.

He noted the work and dedication shown by the Kosovo federation in advancing and raising the quality of the sport in its country.

There was discussion over the investment that will be made at the Prishtina 2030 Games for shooting sport.

The FShSK, like other federations, derives its main budget from MCYS, whose director, Alaj, promised continuing support so that the sport within Kosovo can be further strengthened.

Also present at the meeting were the director of the Sports Department at Kosovo’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Ibër Alaj as well as the FShSK Secretary General, Driton Sejdiu and Vice-President Agron Jusufi.

President Rossi went on to visit the marksmanship hall at the Palace of Youth and Sports in Prishtina.

After that he travelled to North Macedonia to have dinner with the President of the Macedonian Sport Shooting Federation (MSSF) Mr. Jordan Tasevski and the Secretary General Mr. Tome Nestorovski
