The 25-year shooting star from Ukraine won her second consecutive 10m Air Pistol Women event at the Internationaler Wettkampf in Munich.

The 2004 Olympic Champion Olena Kostevych turned out as the protagonist of the last competition day of the IWK in Munich.

The 25-year old student from Ukraine won her second consecutive 10m Air Pistol Women Gold medal, today, beating Czech Republic’s Lenka Maruskova at the last shot.

Kostevych had won the first IWK’s air pistol women match two days ago, finishing in the lead with a total score of 494.0 (391+103.0), outscoring Belarus’ Viktoria Chaika and Hungary’s Sara Babicz.

Starting today’s match in second place, with a qualification score of 391 points, the Ukrainian shooter followed the qualification leader Lenka Maruskova since the first shot.

The two contenders fought neck and neck right to the last shot, when Maruskova fired a frustrating 9.0, sliding down in second place.

Kostevych took advantage of her opponent’s mistake and secured her second Gold medal with a total of 493.0 (391+102.0) points, leaving Maruskova the Silver with 492.5 (392+100.5) points, while the Bronze went to the ISSF multi-medallist Jasna Sekaric of Serbia with 487.0 (388+99.0) points.
