2013 ISSF Shotgun World Championship opened in Lima, Peru.

400 athletes from the five continents will take part in the most spectacular shotgun competition of the year, trying to secure the World Championship titles in Skeet, Trap and Double Trap events.

The 2013 ISSF Shotgun World Championship kicked off at the Captain FAP Josè Quinones Shooting Range of Lima, Peru, where the best shotgun shooters of the world will be competing from today right to the 24th of September.

 

“I would like to welcome all the athletes to Lima. – the ISSF President Olegario Vazuez Raña said officially opening the Championship, yesterday. – I am sure that this is going to be a great competition, and I wish you all the best success!”

 

Numbers are impressive: 400 athletes coming from 55 nations will compete in the five Olympic Shotgun shooting events of Skeet, Trap and Double Trap. Five team events and separate Junior events will also be conducted, involving over 120 junior athletes (under 21).

 

The first medals of the ISSF Shotgun World Championship will be assigned at the Skeet Women Final, taking place on Tuesday the 17th (tomorrow) at 4 PM. The Skeet Men final will then take place on the following day, on Wednesday the 18th at 4 PM. The Championship will continue on Friday the 20th, with the Double Trap Men Final scheduled to take place at 4.30 PM. The Trap competitions will start on Sunday the 22nd, with the Trap Women Final to be contested on Monday the 23rd at 4.30 PM and the Trap Men Final on Tuesday the 24th at 3.30 PM.
