The Republic of Korea's Kim Ye-ji has secured her first acting role since going viral as a cool-handed sharpshooter at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Kim, who won the silver medal in the women's 10m air pistol this summer in Chateauroux, became beloved around the world for her calm, nonchalant personality, likened to an assassin after footage surfaced from an ISSF World Cup event from earlier this year.

She, alongside Turkey's Yusuf Dikec and a series of other athletes, became memes during the Games, giving shooting a phenomenal platform for the sport and its athletes.

However, what many joked about has now become a reality - Kim is set to star in the short-form series Crush, a spin-off of the global film project Asia as an assassin.

She has been cast alongside Indian influencer and actress Anushka Sen in the project which explores stories of people facing racial hatred and discrimination.

Since becoming a star in pop culture, the 32-year-old Kim signed with a talent agency in August and has since worked a magazine photoshoot for Louis Vuitton.

All because of her effortless charisma.
