Following the International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Handover Ceremony today in Lausanne, Switzerland; International Shooting Sport Federation President Luciano Rossi confirmed meetings between the IOC and ISSF will take place in October.

President Rossi was in attendance on Olympic Day for the event that saw former IOC President Thomas Bach officially depart from his position after 12 years of tremendous service as our leader of global sport. His successor, Kirsty Coventry, took her position today following her election in March.

It was an opportunity for President Rossi - and IOC Member Danka Hrebkova - to congratulate President Coventry in person and request time for discussions between the IOC and the ISSF. This is set to take place in October.

President Luciano Rossi said: "This year's Olympic Day marked the beginning of President Kirsty Coventry's reign as head of the Olympic Movement, and I was delighted to briefly discuss future plans with our sport.

"The ISSF is honoured to be invited to a personal meeting with the new IOC President in October. We are looking forward to showing the progress shooting sport has made since the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and discuss ways shooting sport can add value to the Olympic Movement in future."
