The International Shooting Sport Federation has added more support for its athletes following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS).

This agreements means all major ISSF competitions will have a team of chiropractors, certified by FICS. They will provide their services to athletes for free, allowing those from developing shooting sport nations the same access to healthcare.

As part of the ISSF's focus on the Athletes First initiative, this benefit has been granted. Our governing body continues to consider the concerns and requests of its athletes and include them in our consultations to form the future of our sport.

ISSF Secretary General, Alessandro Nicotra di San Giacomo, said: "It's important that we are aligned, that we sign a Memorandum of Understanding and set the pace for the future collaboration with the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic."

FICS Secretary General, Dr Brian Nook, said: "We're here to support your athletes. Everything that, as us as a federation, our main goal is to provide the best services that we can give you - and it doesn't cost you anything, it's for free.

"All athletes, regardless of which country they come from, have access to this. Some countries have their own chiropractors, no problem. We are there for all the countries that doesn't have their own. We provide that equitable access to chiropractic and medical services."

Although this initiative will focus mostly on athletes, it will be a benefit to those working at ISSF competitions including referees and judges.
