President throws support behind Arab Shooting Championship

ISSF President Luciano Rossi has attended the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Arab Shooting Championship in Tangier, Morocco; supporting the regional competition.

President Rossi was present at the start of the event, which is taking place at the Hunting Arms Shooting Club until September 28.

There, he met with President of the Royal Moroccan Shooting Sport Federation, Dr. Abdeladim Lhafi, Vice President, Abdelkrim Fettah, and the President of the Club Tanger de Tir, Mohamed El Korti. 

He then joined personnel for the competition's technical meeting, before providing the ISSF Diploma and Crest to Dr. Lhafi. He would also award the crest to Mr. Mohammad Al-Fahad, the Technical Delegate for the competition.

Athletes are to compete in shotgun events in Tangier, with 60 athletes coming to Morocco for the event. Participating nations are: Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman and United Arab Emirates.

Following his visit, ISSF President Luciano Rossi said: "It was a great occasion to be warmly welcomed to Tangier for the Arab Shooting Championship. To see strong regional competitions existing shows the future of our sport looks bright."
