Tikhonova was a contender from the off - running level with Italian Alessandra Fait at the end of the first competition stage, with a two-shot gap back to Tejaswani and fellow Indian Riya Shirish Thatte. A mix of excellent shooting and a difficult series for Fait gave Tikhonova a lead of two as the elimination stage started. Tejaswani started to close the gap from three back, taking over Fait and drawing level with 10 targets to go.

By this point, Fait was two behind and after a close battle, would finish third, one shot back from Tejaswani, who scored three to Tikhonova's four. With a one-shot gap, Tikhonova outscored the Indian by two to confirm the win.
