Rifle Events Take Centre Stage on Day Three of Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship

Day three of the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship New Delhi 2026 saw the first 10m air rifle titles decided at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, as senior, junior and youth athletes competed across a full programme of finals. The introduction of rifle events added further variety to the championship schedule, with several nations reaching the podium and maintaining the strong competitive level seen throughout the opening days.

The men’s 10m air rifle final developed into a closely contested battle, with Rudrankksh B. Patil securing gold after moving into the lead in the latter stages of the final to finish with 251.9. Arjun Babuta followed in second place, while Japan’s Naoya Okada claimed bronze after leading during the early phases of the competition. In the team standings, India finished ahead of Kazakhstan and Japan in another tightly contested event.

 

In the junior category, Himanshu Dhillon delivered a consistent performance to win the men’s 10m air rifle junior title, with Ansh Dabas and Naren Pranav V.S completing the podium. The youth men’s final saw Indonesia’s Pramudio Mudiono take gold, ahead of Bhanu Pratap Singh Choudhary, while Anang Febrian secured bronze. Team competitions across the junior and youth events again highlighted the depth of participation across the region, with Kazakhstan and Maldives among the medal-winning nations.

 

The programme also included the 10m air pistol junior and youth mixed team finals, where Mukesh Nelavalli and Vanshika Chaudhary claimed the junior title, and Shiksha Saran together with Girish Gupta secured victory in the youth event. The championship continues in New Delhi with further rifle and pistol finals scheduled, including the women’s 10m air rifle and the men’s and junior men’s 50m pistol events.
