The Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship New Delhi 2026 concluded at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, bringing to a close several days of high-level competition featuring athletes from across the continent. India finished at the top of the medal standings, securing a total of 94 medals, including 51 gold, 23 silver and 20 bronze.
The final day of competition featured strong performances across pistol and rifle events, with medals decided in the 25m Centre Fire Pistol, 25m Pistol Junior, and 50m Rifle Prone Women events, as well as multiple team competitions. Athletes from several nations contributed to the closing day highlights, reflecting the depth and competitive level present throughout the championship.
In the men’s 25m Centre Fire Pistol, Amanpreet Singh claimed gold with a total of 589-24x across the precision and rapid stages. Olympian Gurpreet Singh secured silver with 584-20x, while Ankur Goel completed the podium with bronze on 570-11x. The same trio also secured gold in the team competition.
The junior men’s 25m Pistol event saw Suraj Sharma take gold with a score of 585-25x, continuing a strong start to the season. Mukesh Nelavalli added silver with 582-21x, while Abhinav Deshwal earned bronze with 573-17x. The three athletes combined to secure team gold in the event.

In the women’s 50m Rifle Prone competition, Kazakhstan’s Yelizaveta Bezrukova won gold, while India’s Sift Kaur Samra secured silver with 623.2 and former world champion Tejaswani Sawant claimed bronze, marking her return to the international podium. India also secured team gold in the event alongside Manini Kaushik.

In the junior women’s 50m Rifle Prone event, Kazakhstan’s Tomiris Amanova and Darya Ponomarenko took gold and silver respectively, while Dhavalika Devi Nyamurus secured bronze. The Indian team of Prachi Gaikwad, Anuskha Thokur and Dhavalika Devi Nyamurus won the team gold medal.
The championship concluded with strong participation from across Asia, highlighting both established athletes and emerging talent as the continental season continues toward upcoming international competitions.
