The European Championship 300m, held in Osijek, Croatia from 30 April to 6 May 2026, saw the conclusion of all official ISSF events on the morning of 4 May, with the 300m Rifle 3 Positions Women bringing the competition to a close.

Across the championship, a total of 45 athletes from 16 countries and Member Federations competed in 94 starts, showcasing depth, consistency and high technical level across all 300m disciplines.

The last ISSF event, the 300m Rifle 3 Positions Women, saw Switzerland’s Marta Szabo Bouza take gold with a strong score of 590, narrowly ahead of Great Britain’s Seonaid McIntosh (589), while Poland’s Karolina Romanczyk secured bronze with 584.

The competition remained close throughout, with consistent shooting across kneeling and prone proving decisive in separating the top athletes in the final standings.
Earlier in the day, the 300m Rifle 3 Positions Men delivered one of the most competitive events of the championship. Czech athlete Jiri Privratsky claimed gold with 592 (34x), finishing just ahead of Finland’s Aleksi Leppa, also on 592, with Switzerland’s Simon Maag taking bronze with 588.

The event highlighted the importance of standing position consistency, where small margins ultimately decided the podium positions.
In the 300m Rifle Prone Men, Austria’s Alexander Schmirl secured gold with an impressive 598, edging Poland’s Andrzej Burda and Switzerland’s Pascal Bachmann-Senti, both also scoring 598, in a tightly contested podium decided by inner tens.

The 300m Rifle Prone Women saw a standout performance from Switzerland’s Anja Bachmann-Senti, who achieved a perfect 600, confirming her dominance in the discipline. Poland’s Karolina Romanczyk (598) and Switzerland’s Marta Szabo Bouza (597) completed the podium.
The 300m Standard Rifle Open event provided a competitive mixed field, with Poland’s Tomasz Bartnik taking gold with 589, followed by Switzerland’s Pascal Bachmann-Senti (587) and Romania’s Peter Sidi (586).

Across all five ISSF events — 300m Rifle Prone Women, 300m Standard Rifle Open, 300m Rifle Prone Men, 300m Rifle 3 Positions Men, 300m Rifle 3 Positions Women — the championship demonstrated the continued strength and tradition of 300m shooting in Europe.

The event in Osijek combined experienced athletes and emerging talent, with consistently high scores and close margins highlighting the technical demands of the discipline.

With the conclusion of the ISSF programme on 4 May, the European Championship 300m once again confirmed its importance within the international shooting sport calendar.
