The Italian Shooting Union successfully organised the first ISSF Rifle and Pistol Judges Course ever held in Italy, from 21 to 24 May, marking an important step in the continued development of technical officials within international shooting sport.

The initiative was launched as part of the preparation process for Italy hosting future major ISSF competitions, further strengthening the country’s involvement within the international shooting sport community.

A total of 17 participants from nine countries attended the course, including representatives from Italy, Serbia, Slovakia, Germany, Bulgaria, Armenia, Andorra, Poland and Albania. Among them, 16 candidates participated to obtain new ISSF judging licenses — 14 in both Rifle and Pistol disciplines, one in Rifle only and one in Pistol only — while one participant attended for ISSF license renewal.

The course also reflected strong female participation, with eight women taking part in the programme.

Over four intensive and productive days, participants covered all required ISSF topics related to rules, judging procedures and competition management before completing their final examinations.

The final results were highly positive, with 15 new ISSF Rifle Judges and 13 new ISSF Pistol Judges successfully earning their licenses, contributing to the continued education and expansion of qualified technical officials across the ISSF community.
