The latest ISSF Electronic Scoring Target (EST) Course is underway in New Delhi, India, bringing together 28 participants from India, Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arabia for five days of technical education.
Hosted by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), the course is being held from 10 to 14 August 2026 and is led by Jadranka Strukic of Croatia, with Robert Ferencak of Slovenia and Dhiraj Kumar Singh of India assisting as instructors.

The course opened with a ceremony attended by NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, NRAI Secretary General Pawankumar Singh, NRAI Treasurer M.S. Bhangle and NRAI Secretary Rajiv Bhatia. The officials welcomed the instructors and participants and highlighted the importance of continued technical education in shooting sport.

Technology is at the very heart of modern shooting sport, and mastering Electronic Scoring Target systems ensures that our competitions consistently meet the highest global standards,” said NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo.
He added that India has the largest number of ISSF Judges licence holders and EST licence holders in the world, reflecting the country's strong pool of qualified technical officials.

The importance of EST expertise extends beyond technical knowledge. An EST licence is mandatory for judges serving on Rifle and Pistol juries at international ISSF competitions, including World Cups and the Olympic Games.

He added that the NRAI is applying the same standards at domestic competitions, giving Indian officials greater opportunities to gain experience and work towards the highest level of international competition.

The course also highlights the international nature of the ISSF Education programme, bringing together officials from four countries to exchange knowledge and experience while developing the technical expertise required to deliver competitions to ISSF standards.
Pawankumar Singh also thanked the ISSF, and in particular ISSF President Luciano Rossi, for its continued support in developing the technical capabilities of officials in India.
The five-day programme will continue through 14 August, providing participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to work with Electronic Scoring Target systems at ISSF competitions.
