The youngest members of the shooting Para sport family, Para trap and vision impaired (VI) shooting are set to deliver some of the most exciting and unpredictable moments at the Changwon 2026 WSPS World Championships.
This year marks the fourth edition of the Worlds since VI shooting joined the programme at Sydney 2019. Para trap, meanwhile, continues to stage its standalone World Championships – the latest held last year in Brno – but also features at the combined WSPS Worlds alongside pistol, rifle and VI events, as it first did in Sydney seven years ago.
Changwon 2026 will host two VI individual and two team events – VIP - mixed 10m air rifle prone SH-VI and the VIS - mixed 10m air rifle standing SH-VI – and six Para trap events: three individual and three competitions across PT1 – seated mixed SG-S, PT2 - standing mixed SG-L and PT3 - standing mixed SG-U.

VI – Ones to Watch
Ager Solabarrieta (Spain)
The most decorated VI athlete in WSPS World Championships history, Solabarrieta owns three world titles – VIP and VIS golds from Lima 2023 and a VIS crown from Al Ain 2022. Since his Worlds debut, he has missed the podium only once (the VIP at Al Ain 2022, finishing sixth). He arrives in Changwon fresh from adding the European VIP title in Osijek last year.
Barbara Moskal (Poland)
Moskal is the only athlete to medal at all three World Championships since VI shooting was introduced in 2019. The Polish star took VIS silver in Lima 2023 behind Spain’s Solabarrieta and holds both the VIP (247.8) and VIS (227.9) world records. Despite her consistency, she is still chasing her first VIP medal at the Worlds, though she claimed the European title in Granada two years ago.
Fran Skracic (Croatia)
One of the most reliable podium contenders in VI shooting, Skracic has medalled at both Worlds he has attended. He debuted with VIP bronze at Al Ain 2022, upgraded to VIP silver in Lima a year later, and added VIS bronze to complete his collection. The 38-year-old is targeting his first world title in Changwon.
Para Trap – Ones to Watch
Mohammed Alhebsi (UAE) – PT1
Alhebsi arrived on the world stage with bronze at Lonato 2021, but his breakthrough came at Brno 2025, where he won gold with a world record 41 hits. Now the PT1 ranking leader, the 40‑year‑old returns to Changwon after winning silver at the 2025 WSPS World Cup.
Hella Lajili (France) – PT1
Lajili stunned the field at Brno 2025 by topping PT1 qualification with 103 hits in her Worlds debut. She finished fourth — the best result ever by a female athlete at the Para Trap Worlds — and has since added bronze at the Sellier & Bellot Para Trap Grand Prix this August. At 21, she is the highest‑ranked female Para trap athlete across all classes.
Filip Marinov (Slovakia) – PT2
The Granada 2024 champion has completed the full medal set at the Worlds, adding silver at Al Ain 2022 and bronze at Brno 2025 – where Italy’s two-time world champion Fabrizio Cormons took gold. Marinov shares the PT2 world record (44) and leads the ranking. Turning 32 at the end of September, he aims to celebrate with another podium in his Changwon debut.
Gabriele Nanni (Italy) – PT3
The only athlete with three Para Trap World Championships golds – Al Ain 2022, Lima 2023 and Granada 2024 – Nanni is also the PT3 world and qualification world record holder (43 and 120 hits). He took silver at Brno 2025 behind rising star Madran but dominated the Changwon 2025 World Cup, winning both qualification and finals.
Muaz Erdem Madran (Turkiye) – PT3
At only 16, Madran made history by defeating Nanni to win the Brno 2025 world title. He arrives in Changwon as one of the favourites, ranked number 2 in the world behind Asian record holder Ahmad Buhaleeba (UAE) – the Lima 2023 bronze medallist. This will be Madran’s first competition at the Korean venue.
