The ISSF Junior World Cup Shotgun in Porpetto, Italy, produced an outstanding day of competition on 15 September, with Varvara Zaitseva and Andreas Pontikis winning the Skeet Women Junior and Skeet Men Junior finals respectively. Pontikis also equalled the World Record Junior with a score of 34.
The Skeet Women Junior final saw Individual Neutral Athlete Varvara Zaitseva take gold with 30 hits. Her teammate Kseniia Shuliak secured silver with 29, while Amaris Cerra of the United States completed the podium with 24.
Zaitseva’s victory came ahead of a competitive final that also featured athletes from the Czech Republic, Italy and Great Britain, highlighting the international depth of the junior field.

In the Skeet Men Junior final, Cyprus’ Andreas Pontikis produced the standout performance of the day, winning gold with 34 hits and equalling the World Record Junior. Italy’s Marco Coco followed with 33 to take silver, while Hungary’s Balint Renner claimed bronze with 29.
Germany’s Magnus Erdmann finished fourth with 23, ahead of Lukas Havlik of the Czech Republic on 21. Germany’s Vladislav Poddubskiy, Kirill Makarov of AIN and Italy’s Antonio La Volpe completed the final lineup.
