European Championship Shotgun: Rutter and Kallioinen crowned European Skeet champions

Amber Jo Rutter of Great Britain and Eetu Kallioinen of Finland claimed the senior Skeet titles at the European Championship Shotgun in Malakasa, Greece, on yesterday, while four junior champions were crowned in the same discipline on Wednesday.

Rutter takes Skeet Women gold

Rutter won the Skeet Women final with a score of 34, finishing one target ahead of Italy’s Diana Bacosi, who took silver with 33.

Sweden’s Victoria Larsson completed the podium with 27, while France’s Noemie Battault finished fourth on 23.

France’s Lucie Anastassiou was fifth with 20, ahead of Czech Republic’s Anna Sindelarova on 18.

Italy’s Sara Bongini and Germany’s Nadine Messerschmidt both finished on nine targets.
Kallioinen wins men’s title after shoot-off

The Skeet Men final went down to a shoot-off, with Kallioinen and Ukraine’s Mikola Milchev both finishing on 31 targets.

Kallioinen prevailed 4-3 in the shoot-off to take the European title, while Milchev claimed silver. Sweden’s Henrik Jansson won bronze with 26.

AIN’s German Telenin finished fourth on 23, followed by Georgia’s Yaroslav Startsev on 19. Italy’s Gabriele Rossetti placed sixth with 18.
La Volpe sets junior record

The junior finals on 30 September produced two closely contested competitions.

Italy’s Antonio La Volpe won the Skeet Men Junior title with 34 targets, with his result marked as an Equalled World Record Junior and Equalled European Record Junior.

Greece’s Fotios Baxevanakis took silver with 33, while Great Britain’s Henry Lungley secured bronze with 28.


In the Skeet Women Junior final, Germany’s Emilie Bundan and Ukraine’s Ielyzaveta Pyvovarova both finished on 31 targets. Bundan won the shoot-off 5-4 to take gold, with Pyvovarova taking silver.

Great Britain’s Jessica Louise Hambrook completed the podium with 27.

The European Championship Shotgun continues in Malakasa, with athletes competing for the remaining continental titles.
