ISSF World Tour Target Sprint Bellinzona 2026: Ammirati and Schmidt win Elite titles as German juniors shine

Italy’s Marco Ammirati and Germany’s Kerstin Schmidt won the Elite Men and Elite Women individual competitions on Saturday as the ISSF World Tour Target Sprint continued in Bellinzona, Switzerland.

The second day of competition also featured the Junior Men and Junior Women finals, with German athletes taking the top positions in both competitions.

Ammirati leads Elite Men

Ammirati produced the fastest overall time in the Elite Men competition, completing the two heats in 9:09.68. The Italian finished first in both heats, recording 4:31.40 and 4:38.28.     

Hungary’s Mark Rescsik took second place in 9:29.13, while Great Britain’s Kieran Duffy completed the podium in 9:30.95.   

Germany’s Luca Göhmann was fourth in 9:41.04, followed by Switzerland’s Daniel Bienz in 9:48.70.
Schmidt dominates Elite Women

Germany’s Kerstin Schmidt won the Elite Women competition with a combined time of 10:30.57, also finishing first in both heats.   

Great Britain took the next two places, with Emily Shawyer finishing second in 11:00.94 and Erin Throgmorton-Appleby third in 11:47.35. Switzerland’s Sabrina Humbel and Ramona Elsener placed fourth and fifth respectively.
German success in the Junior finals

Germany’s Lukas Bürki won Junior Men Final 1 in 4:23.85, ahead of Switzerland’s Patrick Gal and Italy’s Elia Sidoni. 

In Final 2, Germany’s Julian Knoll finished first in 4:51.23, followed by compatriot Matti Kussmaul and Great Britain’s Nathaniel Salvatore.
Germany also took the top three places in Junior Women Final 1, with Lisa Enderle winning in 5:06.08 ahead of Julia Enderle and Milia Kussmaul.     

Anina Mosch of Switzerland won Junior Women Final 2 in 5:52.62, followed by Great Britain’s Mari Pritchard and Rebecca Latham-Roberts.     

The ISSF World Tour Target Sprint concludes in Bellinzona on Sunday, 4 October.
