As part of its established risk management procedures, the ISSF has also developed contingency arrangements, including the identification of an alternative venue capable of hosting the Championships at short notice should circumstances make this necessary.
The ISSF Executive Committee is responsible for assessing the situation and deciding whether any changes to the Championships are required. The safety of participants and the need to ensure fair and equitable competition will remain central to any such decision.
The ISSF also recognises the importance of the Championships in relation to Olympic qualification. Should circumstances significantly affect the ability of athletes or National Federations to participate safely, the ISSF will assess the sporting implications and determine an appropriate course of action in accordance with the applicable regulations.
