Germany's Florian Peter claimed the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men world title at the ISSF World Championship Rifle / Pistol / Shotgun Doha 2026 on 4 November, with France's Clement Bessaguet taking silver and Czechia's Matej Rampula also securing an Olympic quota place for his country.

Peter delivered a winning score of 33 hits to take gold, finishing just one hit ahead of Bessaguet, who claimed silver with 32. The two athletes pulled clear of the rest of the field in a closely contested final, with the battle for the title going down to the closing series.

France's Jean Quiquampoix completed the podium with 26 hits, while Germany's Emanuel Mueller finished fourth with 23 after a shoot-off.
Although he missed out on a medal, Rampula had an important reason to celebrate. His fifth-place finish, with 15 hits, earned Czechia an Olympic quota place for Los Angeles 2028. Peter and Bessaguet also secured places for Germany and France respectively.

Indonesia's Dewa Putu Yadi Suteja finished sixth with 12 hits, followed by Ukraine's Volodymyr Pasternak with eight and Korea's Gunhyeok Lee with seven.
Three more nations secure their path to LA28

The 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men final brought another three Olympic quota places into play, with Germany, France and Czechia adding their names to the list of nations securing qualification places for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The World Championship continues at the Lusail Shooting Complex, with more medals and Olympic quota places still to be decided across the rifle, pistol and shotgun events.
