Finals "Best of 6" from RFP Finals round competition

“Rapid Fire will be our best final” Anderson said

The ISSF Vice President highlighted the positive aspects of the new 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men competition format which will be used at the 2012 Games, speaking at the microphone of ISSF TV.

“I am very pleased with how everything went here at this 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men Grand Prix” The ISSF Vice President Gary Anderson said after the test event organized by the ISSF in Munich to give a chance to international shooters to try the new competitions format.

 

“The response form the shooters has been excellent – the Vice President continued – I have received positive feedbacks: the athletes understood the change.”

 

Mr Anderson also followed the match through the monitors of ISSF TV as guest commentator. “The excitement that we are trying to capture and present seems to have come through – he said – and I have a feeling that this is going to be our best final. The new format turned the Rapid Fire Pistol event into a real television event.”

 

“A quicker final, showing one shooter at the time, with a “hit or miss” scoring system that everybody understands instantly, makes it more exciting for the spectators.” Mr Anderson stated.

 

The new 25m Rapid Fire Pistol Men competition format will be adopted during the 2011 ISSF World Cup Series, and will be used at the next 2012 Olympic Games in London.
