General Assembly

THE_ISSF_STRUCTURE.gif

The general assembly is responsible for any revision of the constitution and the general regulations of the international shooting sport.

It consists of the administrative council, the honorary members, and no more than two delegates from each national member federation.

The general assembly meets every two years at the location of the World Championships and Olympic Games or at a location chosen by the executive committee by unanimous vote.

The general assembly elects the ISSF officers - president, secretary general and four vice presidents - members of the executive committee, members of the administrative council, chairmen of the committees, and the auditors.

One national member federation, representing all shooting sports, has two votes and may be represented by one or two delegates. Two national member federations, representing one country, have one vote and one delegate each.

The general assembly is responsible for any revision of the constitution and the general regulations of the international shooting sport.

1907 ISSF Founding and 1st General Assembly

Actions taken at the 1st ISSF General Assembly in Zurich began with the approval of the Constitution drafted by Daniel Mérillon, the first ISSF President. This formally established the L’Union Internationale des Fédérations et Associations nationals de Tir (International Union of National Shooting Federations and Associations).
