2014 ISSF World Cup calendar unveiled

Fort Benning, Munich, Maribor and Beijing will host Rifle & Pistol World Cup Stages, Tucson, Rio De Janeiro, Almaty and Munich will be the Shotgun locations. 2014 will be an intense season, with the Youth Olympics and the ISSF World Championship in all events taking place in August and September.

The 2014 ISSF World Cup Series calendar has been released today.  

 

The 2014 ISSF season will start in USA, with a Rifle & Pistol World Cup Stage taking place in Fort Benning, from the 26th of March to the 4th of April.

 

USA will be the host of the first ISSF Shotgun World Cup Stage as well. Shotgun shooters will indeed compete in Tucson, Arizona, from the 8th to the 15th of April 2014.

 

From North to South America: the second Shotgun World Cup Stage will take place in Rio De Janeiro, from the 27th of April to the 6th of May. This will be the first time for an ISSF Shotgun World Cup Stage in Rio: previous world cup editions in Brazil were indeed held in Americana (2001, 2004) and Belo Horizonte (1988).

 

The Shotgun World Cup will then move to Asia, to Kazakhstan, where the third ISSF Shotgun Wolrd Cup Stage will take place in Almaty from the 16th to the 25th of May.

 

Coming back to Europe in June, Rifle and Pistol athletes will meet Shotgun shooters in Munich, where a combined ISSF Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun World Cup Stage will be held at the 1972 Olympic Shooting Range from the 4th to the 13th of June.

 

From Germany to Slovenia: Rifle and Pistol Shooters will then move to Maribor, where the third ISSF Rifle & Pistol World Cup Stage will be held from the 13th to the 21st of June.

 

Back to the Olympic range of Beijing: the fourth and last ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Stage will then take place in China, on the lined of the 2008 Olympic Shooting Range of Beijing, where the match is going to be held from the 1st to the 9th of July.

 

The 2014 Shooting season is going to be packed with great shooting and true emotions. Next to the ISSF World Cup Season, other major events will appeal the shooting fans.

 

The second Youth Olympic Games will take place in Nanjing, China, from the 16th to the 28th of August. There, the ISSF will present a new competition format, a team event mixing man and women.

 

The 2014 ISSF World Championships in all events, staging more than 50 shooting events, will take place in Granada, Spain, from the 6th to the 20th of September, bringing together the best shooters of the world on the path to Rio 2016.

 

But 2014 also means continental and regional championship: Shooting will indeed be part of the XX Commonwealth Games’ program, taking place in Glasgow from the 23 of July to the 3rd of August. And shooting events will also be staged at the 17th Asian Games taking place in Incheon, Korea, from the 19 September through the 4th of October 2014.
