10m Running Target Mixed Men Junior Stage 2

So Kwang finally pockets Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s first Gold medal in Suhl

In his first international appearance the Korean 19-year-old secured his second medal after the Silver he claimed yesterday in the 10m Running Target Men Junior event. Austria’s Raphael Benjamin Rauter and France’s Nicolas Tranchant joined him on the podium, in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

Appearing for his first time in an international Running Target competition, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s 19-year-old So Kwang claimed the World title in the 10m Running Target Mixed Men Junior, the first Gold medal for his country at the ISSF Running Target World Championship in Suhl.

 

After concluding the first half of the event in 2nd place, So nailed an incredibile performance with his second round of 30 shots, adding an unbelievable 196 to the 187 he scored earlier, and securing the top of the podium with 383 total points,

 

Alongside So, in 2nd position placed Austria’s 20-year-old Raphael Benjamin Rauter with 370 total points, while yesterday’s Gold medallist in the 10m Running Target Men Junior event, France’s Nicolas Tranchant, 15, finished 3rd after prevailing over Finland’s Mika Heikkila in a shoot-off for the Bronze medal. 

 

The German team composed by Felix Hoerning, Kris Grossheim and Torsten Fass pocketed the team’s Gold medal with 1092 points, followed in 2nd place by the Russian Federation’s Valerii Davydov, Iaroslav Klepikov and Samir Khagi, winners of the Silver medals, and by the Ukraine’s Ihor Kizyma, Maksym Babushok and Dmytro Melnyk, winners of the Bronze medals.

The ISSF Running Target World Championship will continue tomorrow with the last two events of the competition: the 10m Running Target Mixed Women and the 10m Running Target Mixed Women Junior.
