Revived ISSF Jury Course in Wiesbaden attracts international entries

An ISSF Jury Course is taking place at the National Olympic & Paralympic Training Centre in Wiesbaden for the first time in eight years.

The newly revived course involves training for rifle and pistol and is running until Sunday, March 17 under the direction of Great Britain’s Paul Gumn.

It has attracted participants from Germany, Switzerland, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.

The last time an ISSF Jury course took place at this German venue it provided training for shotgun events.

Gumn, a member of the ISSF Technical Committee, is an experienced instructor and has been involved as technical delegate or jury member in many important international shooting sport event around the globe.

ISSF President Luciano Rossi commented: "We are delighted that we are back after a long time with an international Jury course at the ISSF training centre in Wiesbaden - where everything started in the 1980s in the area of ISSF educational activities.”

Jörg Brokamp, Secretary General of the German Shooting Sport & Archery Federation (DSB) added: "Well-trained judges are essential for international shooting sport, so it is good that we can make a contribution here and intensify our cooperation with the ISSF in this area again.

“And, of course, I am delighted that six German judges are taking part and continuing their training in this way."
