Czech’s Jan Sychra won the last final of the 2009 ISSF World Cup in all events in Munich, the Skeet Men competition. The Czech athlete tied the current world record 125 hits out of 125 targets, and claimed Gold at the final round.

Jan SYCHRA of Czech Republic equalled the current world record of 125 targets set in 2007 by USA’s Vincent Hancock. The 40-year old Czech athlete is the second shooter to equal the record, following Norway’s Tore BROVOLD who was the first to tie it while competing at the 2008 European Championships in Nicosia.

Sychra walked into the final round with two targets of advantage on his followers, and only missed one target winning Gold with a total score of 149 hits (125+24). The Czech shooter lost the chance to tie the Final World Record of 150 hits by dropping a precious target on the fourth station, the turning point of today’s final round.

Italy’s Valerio LUCHINI and Cyprus’ Georgios ACHILLEOS shot-off for Silver. The two shooters had started the final round tied with 123 hits, and both of them shot a perfect final of 25 hits.
