20 shoot-off targets to decide the Skeet Men Junior World Champ

An exciting shoot-off decided the podium placements at the Skeet Men Junior event, today, at the 2011 ISSF Shotgun World Championship, where separate events for Junior shooters are conducted.

After the competitions, four shooters tied in the lead with a score of 121 hits out of 125 targets.

 

At the tiebreaker, the first to miss and to leave the match was Czech Republic’s Frantisek Kadlec, who placed in fourth with a total score of  121+1 hits. Following him, Germany’s Gerrit Wuelpern missed on his eighth shoot-off double, closing his round in third place with 121+15 hits and the Bronze medal around his neck.

 

The duel for the Gold medal between Italy’s Tammaro Cassandro and Russia’s Anatoly Fedorov lasted right to the tenth shoot-off double, when Cassandro dropped a clay placing himself in second with 121+19 hits, and leaving the Gold and the Junior World Champion title to Fedorov with 121+20 hits.

 

The two contenders also finished on the teams’ podium. The Italian team (Tammaro Cassandro, Gabriele Rossetti, Vincenzo Grizi) secured the Gold medal with a new Junior World Record of 360 hits. Czech Republic (Frantisek Kadlec, Radek Srb, Miroslav Pacak) followed in second place, winning the teams’ Silver with 356 targets. Fedorov’s Russia also stepped on the podium, winning the Bronze medal with 355 targets scored by the Junior World Champion and his teammates Alezander Zemlin and Alezander Mir
